1. What is the Classroom Management Teacher Dashboard?

The Blocksi Teacher Dashboard is a classroom management system for teachers who wants to assist students on Chromebooks or Windows-OS devices during class, while at the same time monitor their screen, collect analytics and enforce a filtering policy in order to either run assessments with limited internet resources or just block or unblock access to certain materials on the internet for pedagogy and curriculum purposes. The teacher dashboard runs only during the class session for a limited amount of time. When class, ends the enforced new filtering policy falls back to the administrator filtering policy.

2. How many students can the Blocksi Teacher Dashboard manage?

There is no specific limit set.

3. How do students appear on the Teacher Dashboard?

Student's screens (Chromebook or Windows) are displayed as thumbnails that when clicked on, are displayed full-screen along with the analytics and web history of that student during the class session. A specific filtering policy different from the class filtering policy can also be enforced to a specific student. Refresh time is near real time, less than 3-4 seconds depending on network upstream bandwidth condition.

4. Can the Teacher enforce a more restrictive filtering policy, than the Administrator policy?

Administrators can push specific teacher filtering policies to be used during the class session only to the Teacher Dashboard. Teachers can change the filtering policy for their class on the fly, and pick another one or make exceptions to the current one. Once the class is over, it falls back to the administrator school-wide filtering enforced policy.

5. How are students added to the class?

Teacher Dashboard can either import classes from Google Classroom, can add students using a join access code or select them from the the GSuite user directory, or import them from a csv file.

6. What are the content filtering capabilities available for the Teacher?

Teachers can add web filter across 79 categories, black and white lists, YouTube filtering across 20 categories; or restrict YouTube to a specific channel or black & white list. Usually the Administrator would push to the Teacher Dashboard filtering policies that would fit teachers' requirements for their class, and the teacher would just need to make exceptions (allow or block) some specific sites.

7. Does the teacher get an analytics report of class to see which sites students visited during the class session?

Yes, they do. The report contains all URLs visited and every YouTube video watched during the class session.

8. Can the teacher see which tabs are opened on student's device and close any unwanted ones?

Yes, the teacher can see icons for each tab open and can close the ones which are deemed not necessary for the class.

9. Can the teacher run assessment on the student's device without having to put them in kiosk mode?

Yes, the teacher can block access to the entire internet and allow only access, for example, to a specific set of web pages along with a Google form, so that the students in class have access to a limited number of resources when completing assessments.
